The project, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to empower youth and women by promoting year-round agricultural activities.

Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed stated that the project will enable the annual harvesting of 30,000 hectares of land in Udubo, Gamawa Local Government Area. This, he said, will boost food availability and security through dry season farming and other agricultural activities.

The governor emphasised his administration’s commitment to modernising agriculture in Bauchi State, allocating 50,000 hectares of land in Toro LGA for various agricultural activities.

He noted that the project will increase farming capacity, economic growth, and food security for Nigerian farmers.

The Irrigate Nigeria Project is a public-private partnership involving foreign investors to guarantee its success.

The goal of the project is to unlock Nigeria's extensive arable land through irrigation and offer market-driven support for sustainable growth and development.

The project launch was graced by prominent dignitaries, such as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacheus Adedeji, and the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Infrastructure Engineering, Dr. Dahiru Mohammed.

This initiative is expected to significantly impact the state's economy and food security. The government has assured that it will ensure the project's sustainability to encourage greater participation across the state.
