A comprehensive training program has been conducted to educate and empower Nigerian youths from diverse backgrounds on combating the impacts of climate change and promoting sustainable development practices. The initiative, led by the youth-led non-profit organization Sustainable Solutions for Green Growth (SSforGG), targeted young individuals, women, and vulnerable communities. Held at Kano State University of Science and Technology and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi, the capacity building workshops took place from May 16 to 18, 2023. Participants included students, youth farmers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, among others. The workshops covered a wide range of topics such as climate change science, impacts, adaptation strategies, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and waste management. Resources and tools were provided to encourage the integration of sustainable practices into their daily lives, businesses, and communities. SSforGG, along with the support of Green Energy Mission Africa, aims to continue the Educate 4 Climate Action project and calls for collaboration and support from other organizations, public institutions, and government agencies. The initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 13, emphasizing the urgent need to combat climate change and its impacts. The workshops fostered interaction and learning opportunities for participants, allowing them to gain insights from experienced professionals in the field and encouraging the development of a culture of climate resilience and sustainable living in Nigeria. The training sessions were highly interactive, engaging, and informative, and participants expressed enthusiasm and a desire to further explore climate action and sustainable development.
