The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Governor, Nyesom Wike, has announced plans to collaborate with Israeli experts in the development of technology-driven farms aimed at enhancing agriculture and food production in Abuja.

Wike emphasized that such a partnership is crucial for generating substantial employment opportunities for young people and addressing food insecurity. He made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Michael Freeman, in Abuja.

Additionally, the Governor mentioned that the FCT administration is in the early stages of establishing a technology village and expressed openness to collaboration with credible individuals and organizations.

He clarified that the recent directive regarding ground rate payments was part of the Administration's efforts to boost revenue generation and was not intended to inconvenience any individual or organization.

Ambassador Michael Freeman indicated that Israel was ready to offer substantial support if their initiative was accepted. This support would include the involvement of notable Israeli experts in various capacities.

Freeman also revealed Israel's readiness to establish a digital center in the nation's capital, where young people and others interested in acquiring relevant technological skills for the digital economy could receive training.
