Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor, has urged women farmers to embrace agricultural technology to enhance food production during a two-day training organized for 150 women farmers in Ijebu-Ode. 

The training, themed “Agritech: Empowering Women in Agriculture Through Technology,” was held in collaboration with the Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation (AACCF) and HERVEST to commemorate the 2024 International Women’s Day.

Highlighting the significance of technology in agriculture, Mrs. Abiodun emphasized its role in increasing productivity, reducing waste, and addressing environmental concerns. She stressed the importance of such initiatives in achieving Sustainable Development Goals like Zero Hunger and Climate Action.

Mrs. Abiodun also pledged to extend existing programs supporting women in agriculture to collaborate with AACCF for broader impact. She called on stakeholders to support initiatives like AGRITECH to empower women in agriculture and foster sustainable development.

Hon. Bolu Owotomo, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, assured continued government support for AACCF, aligning with the administration’s vision. Azeez, in her remarks, underscored the training’s aim to empower women in agriculture through technology and urged stakeholders to address barriers hindering women’s access to agricultural resources.
